About the Book
'A Proud Paducah Boy' is a nostalgic glance to Paducah of the 1970s. As the title suggests it is written from the point of view of one person. That person is Bill Whitehead. Bill lived a charmed life full of joy and involvement in Paducah. He and his three siblings attended Clark, Brazelton and Tilghman schools. His Father Dr. W. David Whitehead and Mother JoAnn had relocated the family to Paducah from Nashville, Tennessee in July of 1969. Dr. Whitehead had been hired to be the Superintendent of the City School system. The Whiteheads departed Paducah in October of 1978.
This memoir chronicles the development of a sports obsessed and energetic kid. He generally worshipped all things PTHS and the many good people he had placed in his path. An homage to Paducah, this book is a long overdue thank you from the author to his hometown of Paducah, Kentucky.
